Hundreds of local kids have traveled across the state thanks to a partnership with a Meridian business.

The partnership is between Peavey Electronics and Meridian/Lauderdale County Schools. The Peavey's crafted twelve special field trips the students could take including visiting museums in Jackson, a zoo, productions at The MSU Riley Center and most recently a tour of NAS Meridian.

"Each of them got a few minutes to actually sit in and fly the plane some were ready for it. They grabbed the controls and wanted to roll the plane around," said Ensign Adam Jensen at NAS Meridian.

"We are a product of the experiences we have and sometimes our students in Mississippi don't have the arts and educational facilities outside the schools in the form of experiences that children in other states have, and its really important to me that they have those experiences," said Mary Peavey.
