Meridian police are investigating three different non-related shooting and aggravated assault cases that happened on Monday.

Meridian police are investigating three different non-related shooting and aggravated assault cases that happened on Monday.

The first of the incidents occurred just after 6 a.m. in the 5600 block of 5th Street. Officials say a weapon was fired and a suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Minor injuries were reported.

Just before 12 p.m. in the 1700 block of 18th Avenue, police say a subject was shot in the arm. The suspect is at large. Authorities say his identity will be released when confirmation is made that the victim wishes to pursue charges.

Just before 8 p.m. in the 1400 block of 34th Avenue, a victim was shot once in the chest and is in stable condition at a local hospital. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and is expected to be charged.
