Candidate for Sheriff Ticketed

A candidate for Lauderdale County Sheriff has been charged with driving with a suspended license.

Joseph Nabors, 37, was stopped by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, allegedly for speeding on Highway 19 North near Chandler Road.

Nabors told Newscenter 11 Tuesday he was unaware that his license had been suspended for unpaid fines and he plans to promptly rectify the situation.

Nabors also said that he hopes the incident will not have a negative impact on his candidacy.
