July 4 Plans Set

Planning is almost complete for a special ceremony honoring retired Congressman, Sonny Montgomery, at Meridian's 4th of July celebration. Planning committee chairman, Billy Campbell, outlined some of the details Friday.

"We're going to have our ceremony at the beginning and just tag it on to the regular 4th of July," said Campbell. "They're going to move the regular 4th of July celebration back a little. It usually starts at 7 p.m."

Many officials have already accepted invitations to be present in tribute to Montgomery.
