Two wrecks happened within minutes of each other in Lauderdale County around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
One at Alamucha-Whynot Road involved an M&B Railroad train and a pickup truck. The driver of the truck, a white male in his fifties who lived nearby, was taken to a local hospital.
Lauderdale County Deputy Erica Harmon responded to the scene.
"The truck approached the train track and he stopped on the track as the train was coming through," said Harmon.
Harmon said the investigation had not yet determined why the driver of the pickup truck stopped on the track.
In an unrelated mishap, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Jeff Price Road and Will Garrett Road. It appeared one vehicle may have turned in front of the other.
A woman in a van was transported to the hospital for what was reported as minor injuries.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is investigating both wrecks.
