Smith Moves Up in MAS

Lauderdale County supervisor Jimmie Smith is in line to be president of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors.

Smith has now moved up to second vice-president of the organization. If Smith wins reelection this year, he would be president in two years.

"I'm very humble that my comrades have chosen me to serve third vice president, now second vice president, and I think it's a unique opportunity to bring about educating supervisors and trying to get some unique ideas and perspective," said Smith.

Smith was elected to the office of District Two supervisor in 1989.
