CARTHAGE, Miss. (AP) -- A 39-year-old man arrested in Leake County following a tip from a deer hunter will be returned to Alabama to face a murder charge.

Leake County Sheriff Greg Waggoner says 39-year-old Randy Johnson was taken into custody this past weekend. Authorities had been looking for Johnson, who was living in Hoover, Ala., and has family in Leake County, since Friday afternoon.

The sheriff said Johnson was discovered Saturday morning in a wooded area near the Leake-Attala County line.

Waggoner said federal, state and area lawmen were called for assistance after Johnson allegedly fired a rifle.

Hoover police Capt. Jim Coker said Johnson is accused of fatally shooting his roommate, 49-year-old David Alan Oliver in Hoover.
