The Mississippi Supreme Court has sided for a second time with a Hinds County judge who gave former Gov. Ray Mabus sole custody of his two daughters.
Last February, Chancellor Stuart Robinson dismissed a petition from Julie Mabus that he modify his original divorce decree and grant her custody of her daughters, Elisabeth and Annie.
Mabus was granted custody of the girls when he was granted a divorce from Julie Mabus in 2000. That divorce decree was upheld by the Supreme Court earlier this year.
Justice George C. Carlson, writing for the court, said Julie Mabus failed to show a material change in circumstances since the court upheld the original divorce decree.
