Making Reading Fun

The Clarke County Quitman Public Library's summer reading program "Books Ahoy" ended Friday with a Hawaiian style luau and a graduation ceremony.

Event organizer Anissa Dyess said the program enhances children's reading skills and helps them go farther in school.

"Every year we host this program with the help of the Mississippi Library Commission," said Anissa Dyess. "And every year we just have a good time here with the kids."

Over 160 children from the Quitman area attended the reading program this year.
