A one-vehicle wreck on Russell-Topton Road Monday afternoon sent the driver and passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.
The wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. Investigators said the driver lost control in a curve and crashed into a tree.
"The driver and passenger were both carried by ambulance to Rush Hospital. One of the individuals is in critical condition at this time. The accident investigation team has been activated, collecting data here to determine the cause of the accident," said Sheriff Billy Sollie.
The names of the victims were unavailable. The wet road is believed to be a factor in the wreck.
