HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Icy spots on roads and bridges are causing travel problems from the Tennessee Valley region to greater Birmingham because of freezing fog.

The National Weather Service along with Alabama state troopers say slick roads will pose a hazard in several counties.

Forecaster said temperatures should climb above freezing by 9 a.m. Monday

Motorists are urged to use extreme caution. Numerous accidents blamed on icy roads have been reported.
