A driver was jailed under $15,000 bond in linden, Alabama, after allegedly hitting four people along a downtown sidewalk.
Willie Thomas Marshall, 48, has been charged with two counts of first and second degree assault, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
"He stated to her that he had hit somebody riding a bicycle and she told him I have to take you to the police," said Sgt. Scott McClure of the Linden Police Department. "They drove right by us, drove by us and took him to the jail, and the jail, realizing what was going on, called us."
The most seriously injured victim, Carlton Gray, 20, is paralyzed from the neck down. The other three victims were treated and released.
