Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide investigators recovered the remains of 38-year-old Lance Smelley Wednesday night in Hale County near the town of Gallion. The victim last seen on Dec. 23, 2006.
Capt. Lloyd Baker, the unit commander, said a tip led officers to Smelley's body. He would not elaborate.
