Over 160 high school cadets converged on Meridian Naval Air Station this week.
Navy JROTC is made up of students in grades 9 through 12 from over 65 high schools from all over the southeast.
Only about 5 percent of the cadets are selected for participation in the training camp. It's not only a time for them to stand out from one another, but build lasting bonds and skills.
"I have really enjoyed the experience so far. To meet so many diverse people, it has been good," said cadet Amber Williams.
The students say they came in as individuals but they leave as one team.
