The Tennessee Valley Authority hosted an open house Thursday at its Dekalb facility, offering a close-up look at how electricity is generated.
"It gives the public a chance to come in and look at our new site. It also gives the public a chance to meet people within TVA," said the company's Greg Curtis.
The Kemper County generating units began operating in the summer of 2002, helping supply power during times of peak demand.
