The University of West Alabama has hit its all time high for enrollment.

Currently more than 3,600 students are enrolled. This is UWA's highest enrollment ever.

School officials credit the increase to the growing number of students taking classes online.

"We started our online program in 2002 with 13 students. We now have over 1,500 students in the program," said Public Relations Director Meaghan Gordon. "Four years later, we offer 14 masters degrees and two bachelors degrees, so that's really helped our enrollment."

UWA officials say another likely factor for the enrollment increase is that tuition did not go up this semester.
