Laurel police have arrested four people in connection with a double homicide last weekend.
The Chronicle reports that police say the fatal shootings occurred at home in Laurel around 11 p.m. Friday. The victims were 19-year-old Justin L. Curry and 31-year-old Bennie O. Owens.
Police Sgt. Earl Reed says those arrested were 23-year-old Maurice D. Jones, 22-year-old Gregory Jerome Nix, and 18-year-old Sylvashia McDonald, all of Laurel; and 20-year-old Brittany Waters of Heidelberg.
Reed says Jones and Nix have each been charged with two counts of murder and one count each of aggravated assault. McDonald and Waters have each been charged with one count each of hindering prosecution.
Reed says 8 to 10 shots were reportedly fired at those in the home. He says an investigation is continuing.
