Lt. Gov. Amy Tuck picked up an endorsement Wednesday as she seeks a second term in office.

The National Federation of Independent Business, or NFIB, announced its support for the Republican.

"Small business leads economic progress," said Tuck at a Meridian news conference. "Helping them is a key to getting our economy moving. I am honored to have the endorsement of the NFIB."

Tuck faces no opposition in the primary Aug. 5. She will meet a Reform Party candidate, Anna J. Reives, in the November general election and the winner of the Democrat primary. That will be either Sen. Barbara Blackmon, James Roberts, or Troy Brown, Sr.
