The Meridian School Board Thursday night approved a final vote to close Kate Griffin Junior High School at the end of the current school year. The move is part of the district's restructuring plan. District Superintendent Charlie Kent says the building will be saved if possible. He says the district and the city do not want it to become an eyesore. The board also voted to change the school calendar for the coming year. Classes will begin August 24th and end June 17th of 2010.

I don't think i would like to be associated with Kate Griffin after reading that comment. One statement is true after reading that grammer train wreck, Mississippi does need to put schools first!
