A water association in Neshoba County will get $4.5 million in federal funds to improve water service to about 7,000 homes.

U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering said Monday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture loan will go to the Central Water Association service area.

Pickering said the loan will finance the second phase of a four-part water project in the county.

The association plans to increase storage capacity, provide better operating conditions and improve the distribution system.
