A group of pit bulls, used for fighting, was found on 36th Avenue in Meridian Wednesday afternoon. Both Meridian police and animal control officers responded.
Fourteen dogs, including a puppy, were tied to heavy chains, ranging in weight from ten to twenty pounds.
Authorities say the dogs were likely used for illegal fighting, due to their numerous injuries. Dog fighting is not only cruel but is also a felony crime.
