An argument at a funeral led to two men being stabbed in Sumter County.
James Reed is charged with assault for allegedly stabbing longtime acquaintance, Roy Copeland, last Saturday.
Investigators say the argument began at the church, but the two men were asked to leave.
Later, Copeland returned to the church with a deep gash from his shoulder to his waist. Investigators say he remains hospitalized.
"I'm expecting charges to be filed on Mr. Copeland as soon as he gets out of the hospital. I think he'll have an assault one charge also," said Sheriff Johnny Hatter.
Reed has been released from jail on $20,000 bond.
