This brings the total human cases of the disease to five this year in Mississippi.

State epidemiologist Sally Slavinski says that so-far there are fewer cases of the mosquito-transmitted disease then there were during last year's outbreak.

Last year there were 193 human cases reported and 12 deaths in the state.

There were more than 4,000 reported cases and 284 West Nile deaths nationwide in 2002.

Health officials urge Mississippians to "Fight the Bite'' by wearing long sleeves, pants and avoiding mosquito-prone areas, especially at night when mosquito activity is highest.
