Police Try to Reassure Public

Philadelphia police want to reassure the public about safety in the wake of two recent homicides.

Lamen Clemons, 48, was found shot to death Saturday, Nov. 1 in his home. No arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, police are continue the investigation into the September killing of Mandy Davis, 23. A suspect, Dewayne Savell, 34, has been charged in that case.

"These seem like isolated incidents. We don't see any pattern to these things," said Chief David Edwards of the Philadelphia Police Department. "We certainly hope this doesn't continue, but the police department is working on it. We want to reassure the residents that we are here for them and we are out patrolling."

Anyone with information on the death of Lamen Clemons is asked to contact Philadelphia police at (601) 656-2131.
