Parents were invited to Kate Griffin Junior High School Tuesday to explore ways they might help their children academically.
The topic was ''communication within the family''.
The workshop focused, in part, on methods that could be used at home to help students perform better in school.
Among the ideas discussed was allowing students to study together after school, with supervision.
