A suburban Northport, Alabama, woman fears her sixth grade daughter has been abducted.
According to the mother, Heaven Lashae Ross, 11, who goes by the name "Shae", has not been seen since early Tuesday when the child left her home to walk 50 yards to her school bus stop.
Ross is a white female with red hair, brown eyes, stands 4'6" tall and weighs 100 pounds.
"We are doing everything we can to get you back home," said Beth Lowery.” We have a private investigator who's going to find you. I love you." Then Lowery burst into tears.
Anyone who has knowledge of Shae Ross's whereabouts is urged to call Northport police at (205) 339-6600, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office at (205) 752-0616 or your local law enforcement agency.
Lowery says she's also enraged that local police have not issued an amber alert.
Police are treating it as a missing person's case rather than a kidnapping.
Amber alerts are usually issued when a child known to be in physical danger and officials have a description of a vehicle or kidnapper.
