The Mississippi Army National Guard's 367th Maintenance Company, based in Philadelphia and Dekalb, is being called to active duty.
The mobilization is part of the president's orders for reserve forces in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
About 180 soldiers were ordered to report to their armory Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Kemper County is planning a sendoff for its members. Details have not yet been finalized.
The unit will then depart for ft. Lewis, Washington, on Friday Sept. 5. When ready, members will be deployed to an undisclosed overseas location.
Its mission is to provide direct support and maintenance for field units.
