An arrest has been made in a shooting in Newton. 20-year-old J.J. Reed of Lake, Miss., is charged in a shooting that happened around midnight Saturday at the stockyard in Newton.
Investigators say the shooting allegedly resulted from an incident involving a drink. Officials say the victim was shot once in the shoulder.
Reed is charged with aggravated assault. He is expected to go before a judge for a bond hearing Wednesday.
