A lawsuit to collect unpaid monies allegedly owed to the city of Meridian by the town of Marion for sewer service may be filed next week.
The city's auditor ran a tape on the amount it considers is due.
"We billed them $27,000 for August service. They paid $12,000. In September we billed them $29,000. They paid us $9,000," said city auditor Dave Brown. "In October we billed them just about $14,000. They paid us $9,000. And we billed them almost $19,000 in November and nothing's been paid yet."
The city claims the debt totals $55,000 for the past four months.
