East Central Community College in Decatur celebrated its 75th year of educating the young men and women of eastern and central Mississippi Thursday.
One of the college's most tenured instructors, Lucille Wood, told students, alumni and supporters of ECCC about her 55-year career with the school.
Current president Dr. Phil Sutphin and former presidents, Dr. Eddie Smith and Dr. Arno Vincent also told those in attendance about the past and present of the institution and looked ahead to a bright future.
Originally, only Newton, Neshoba and Scott counties financially supported the college. They were joined later by Lake and Winston Counties.
