Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove Thursday announced the formation of ''Mississippians for Religious Freedom''.
He says the non-profit group will be ready to raise money, if needed, to pay the expenses of moving Alabama's Ten Commandments monument.
"For too long our courts and politicians have interpreted every American's freedom of religion as freedom from religion," said Musgrove.
Musgrove said he contacted Alabama chief justice Roy Moore Wednesday to offer a temporary refuge for the monument in this state.
Musgrove said he has asked other governors to display the Ten Commandments in their states as well.
