The city of Meridian could soon have a new Head Start center. A facility has been proposed, but all the details have not yet been developed.
State Rep. Charles Young said the new facility would ease overcrowding at other Head Start centers and allow people to take advantage of the Head Start program.
"A lot of parents would like to take advantage of the program that Head Start already has in place, where the parent could work during the day and the child from three years old up could be taken care of and the parent could come back after work that evening and pick the child up at no expense to the parent," said Young.
Young said more details about the project will be made available after they are finalized.
