Clarice Davis is charged with shooting 63-year-old Gertrude Hales once in the back. It happened Monday night around 8:30 p.m. on Stokes Circle in Quitman. An investigation continues into what prompted the shooting.
"The witnesses we have say the two women were arguing. What the argument was about, we do not have any idea," says Chief Jimmy Ivy.
Chief Ivy says Hales was taken to Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian for treatment. At last check he said she was in stable condition. Meanwhile, bond for Davis has been set at $40,000.
