Gov. Ronnie Musgrove announced Thursday that Alabama's Ten Commandments monument won't be coming to Mississippi.
Suspended Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore has turned down Musgrove's offer to bring the monument to the state capitol as a temporary display.
A spokesman for Musgrove said he hopes the U.S. Supreme Court will override the federal court's decision to remove the monument from Alabama's judicial building.
Republican gubernatorial contender Haley Barbour also weighed in, stating he wanted to move the Ten Commandments monument to the governor's mansion.
