Child Neglect Arrests

Around 10 p.m. Monday night officers discovered a five-year-old and two-year-old child alone in a mobile home in Forest.

According to Chief Mike Lee there was no electricity in the trailer and it was filled with trash and infested with ants.

Investigators say they still do not know how long the children were left alone. The children's mother, 20-year-old Monique Gardner and the two grandparents have since been arrested. All are charged with child neglect.

Investigators say those charges could be upgraded. Meanwhile, the children are now in the state's custody.
