The end could be in sight for the investigation into alleged wrongdoing at the 186th Air Refueling Wing in Meridian.
Earlier this year a probe was launched into allegations of misconduct by some high-level members of the unit.
The head of Mississippi's National Guard said Thursday the investigation is now in its final weeks.
"And we will see that investigation wrapped up promptly," said Maj. Gen. James Lipscomb. "It will be a little later this fall, but once it is complete, we'll be ready to talk about the results of it."
Gen. Lipscomb was in town with the governor to honor local guardsmen and women for their efforts in the ongoing War Against Terrorism.
