Injured Mississippi Guard Soldiers Receiving Treatment

Specialist Carl Sampson, of McNeil, was hospitalized after several members of a Picayune-based Mississippi National Guard unit were injured in Iraq last weekend.

The Mississippi Amry National Guard said two others from the unit were in intensive care at a military hospital in Kuwait.

They are Private 1st Class Rodney Calhoun, of Biloxi, and Specialist Gino Mayberry, of Gulfport.

Specialists Arlin Steen, of Hattiesburg, and Patrick Garrett, of Perkinston, have returned to duty.

The 890th Combat Engineers of Picayune were traveling with a convoy Friday when they were injured near Fallujah, Iraq.
