The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports two people were killed Monday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 20 west of Meridian. Another person was flown from a Meridian hospital to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. UMC has a trauma center.

An RV wrecked around 1:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 118.
Authorities said a front tire blew, causing the vehicle to leave the highway and strike a tree.

The names of the people involved were not released to the media by the MHP, pending notification of next of kin.
