Driving Meals on Wheels

Volunteers who make the ''Meals on Wheels'' program possible were honored with prizes and a picnic by Multi-County Community Service Agency and United Way.

Volunteers were saluted for donating their time to deliver hot meals to the elderly and disabled.

"Some of the people that they deliver to might be the only contact that that person has all day with anybody," said Mary Brooks, director of the Meals on Wheels program. "So that's why they're special. And the clients need that day to day contact."

130 volunteers help deliver over 300 meals every day to people in this area.
