Children First: A Quest for Art

By  |

Creative young minds were given the chance to blossom during formal auditions for the Art Quest program Thursday at Ross Collins Career Center in Meridian.

Art Quest is a program in Meridian Public Schools that gives artistically gifted children a chance to strengthen their talent.

"Art is very important for these students. It gives them artistic creativity and it makes children want to come to school," said teacher Nancy Ray.

Forty-five students from Crestwood and Poplar Springs Elementary Schools were selected to be a part of the auditions.

Their creations were judged, based on their creativity and other areas. Throughout the year, other schools will be going through a similar audition process.
