The chief of police for the town of Cuba, Ala., has been indicted.
A Sumter County grand jury issued a true bill of indictment against Chief Chris Vaughn for assault.
The charge related to a July 17 shooting that injured Anthony Collins, 19. He was shot four times along Highway 80 bear his Cuba home.
The incident happened shortly after Collins stepfather, Cassimity Walker, 45, was found shot to death at his home. Collins is charged in Walker's death.
Vaugn has been suspended from his position. No court date was immediately set.
