A pro-life group brought its message to Meridian July 4, as it
continues a cross-country walk.

Southern participants in the group, Crossroads, started the walk on
May 20 in Tampa, Florida.

Assistant walk leader Eddy Herty said he changed his mind about
abortion after his sister gave up her baby for adoption.

"I was in the room when the baby was born," Herty said. "It still didn't touch my heart until the family sent back a picture of my nephew. The nephew I was going to have killed. It just touched my heart and I knew then there was no reason for it."

Southern and northern teams plan to meet in Toronto on July 22 for World Youth Day.
