Some upstanding citizens were picked up by police Tuesday, but all for a good cause.
The Jail-a-thon raised money for the fight against muscular dystrophy.
One of the people ''arrested'' and asked to raise ''bail'' was Bill Ethridge employee, Tanya Vandevender.
"The money that will be raised today will go to buy wheelchairs. It will go to fund doctor visits for people that don't have the money to pay for those," said Vandevender. "There will be braces bought for children that are crippled. There will be many different ways that the money will be used. There's also a day camp for some of the children."
The Jail-a-thon was hosted by Meridian's Outback Steakhouse.
