Retired Meridian schoolteacher, Lanelle Luckett Glover, was appointed to the state Board of Education Thursday.
Gov. Ronnie Musgrove said Glover will represent the First Supreme Court District. She was appointed to complete the un-expired term of A.M. Zeidman, who resigned. The term will end June 30, 2007.
Glover taught more than 28 years in public schools in Meridian and Holly Springs.
The appointment requires Senate confirmation.
The Board of Education has nine members who are appointed by the governor, lieutenant governor and the speaker of the House.
