Former NFL MVP Steve McNair has been shot and killed.
Titans owner Bud Adams confirmed the quarterback's death in a brief statement released Saturday.
Adams called him "one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl."
McNair led the Titans within a yard of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl.

Below is a statement from Don Aaron with the Nashville Police Department.

"At this point we don't know the circumstances of these shooting deaths the investigation is going to be conducted by police departments centralized homicide unity those detectives have assembled here at the scene and the condominiums still have to be processed. There is a lot of work yet to be done it will take many hours to process the scene. I don't have answers for you now have to what happened and who is responsible what the circumstances are. "

Steve McNair played with more heart than anyone I've ever watched play the game of football. A trajic loss to the Titans organization and the city of Nashville.
