I agree with John. Obama's stimulus plan has left us so far in debt with no end in sight. At some point, those looking for a handout from the government and expecting the govt to take care of all their problems have to wake up! It is definately time for all the tax PAYERS to voice our opinions and protests. The govt handout "RECEIVERS" I'm sure will be the ones complaining about the tea parties in the first place... I wonder-- what govt benefits are the complainers enjoying courtesy of the tax paying citizens??
No Lucille, Obama didn't create this mess, but he did triple it.
There has been more than one time in our nation's history that the people felt the need to "protest" the actions of the government or society in general. The nice thing about our nation is that we ALL have the freedom to do that. As long as we have that right we need to continue to exercise it. I don't always agree but I will stand up for the right of the people to express their opinions in orderly, civil ways that do not infringe on the rights of others and you should want to protect that right, too. Next time it may be you expressing yourself.
Ha. I'm not surprised that the Star didn't cover it. The "right people" didn't put it up so they didn't care. Unless the new Mayor, Betty Lou Jones or some other well-to-do is involved, chances are it won't get any any coverage.
I just want to know where the TEA parties were when Bush was president? Obama didn't create this mess.
While it's always good to see protests in the news, this article hurts my eyes. "Their taxed enough already"? "Are nation"? Not to mention the comma abuse...
Thanks to WTOK for covering the event. There appeared to be as many or more people at the Tea Party as attended the Bonita Concert, yet the Meridian Star put Bonita on page 1 and failed to mention the Tea Party at all. I guess at some point, we should cease to be surprised.
I love the small article even the local news places on this issue. Another big network. "Obama gives us our money and keep your CHANGE"
