The main entrance to Bonita Lakes Park in Meridian will be closed from 5 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, to support the Sunfish Triathlon taking place there.

People who want to walk or run the trails at Bonita, or watch the triathlon, should take an alternate route.

Turn onto Scruggs Road off Highway 19 South. The turn-off for Scruggs Road from Highway 19 is about a mile past the main entrance, just before the Agri-Center. Then use the Smith Road entrance, which will be open to arriving traffic for this event only.

This route will take travelers to the back side of the lake from which they can easily access the trails. Drivers should exit the same way while the triathlon is in progress.
