One victim of the Friday storm in Kemper County was especially fortunate. He escaped, inexplicably, without a scratch.

Fifty-five-year-old Jimbo Griffin has Down syndrome. He lived by himself in a mobile home in the Blackwater community.

That mobile home was picked up off of its foundation and thrown several yards into a set of trees, but Griffin escaped without a scratch.

Family members say they're very thankful Griffin was able to make it out unscathed.

"We're so thankful Jimbo got out alive," said Bill Griffin. "And we've got so many people that have come by to help us; it's unbelievable the people that have helped us."

Jimbo Griffin had been living alone in the mobile home for about a year and a half.
