A 21-year-old soldier from Shubuta was killed this past weekend in a Black Hawk helicopter crash in Iraq.
Relatives of Private First Class Damian L. Heidelberg said Tuesday that funeral arrangements will made after they receive more information from the military. The family learned of his death Sunday.
Heidelberg is the second Mississippian identified among the 17 servicemen who died in Saturday's crash of two Black Hawks.
Jeremy DiGiovanni of Pike County was crew chief on one of the helicopters.
Nine Mississippians have died in Iraq since the war started in March. Heidelberg's aunt, Phyllis Heidelberg, said her nephew was mild-mannered, loved to go to church and always had a big smile.
