WTOK Brings You High School Football Live

WTOK-TV partners with Cellular South to air five high school football rivalries live this fall.

The games will be professionally produced and include both pre-game and post-game shows.

The coverage for each pre-game show will start at 7 p.m. and kick-off is 7:30 p.m.

Here’s the schedule of games:

Sept. 25 Clinton vs. Madison Central on MyTOK2 (WTOK 11.2)

Oct. 2 South Panola vs. Olive Branch on Meridian’s CW (WTOK 11.3)

Oct. 9 Meridian vs. Oak Grove on WTOK ABC (HD 11.1)

Oct. 23 West Jones vs. Wayne County on Meridian’s CW (WTOK 11.3)

Nov. 6 Gulfport vs. Biloxi on MyTOK2 (WTOK 11.2)

We will also air a 10-week series of documentaries on the Wayne County and West Jones rivalry. They are tentatively scheduled to air every Sunday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. on MyTOK2, starting Sept. 8.

We will also bring you a “Coaches Show” surrounding each of the five televised games. The dates and times for those broadcasts are not yet confirmed.

For those outside the WTOK viewing area, these games will also be broadcast on the channels of WDAM in Hattiesburg, WLBT in Jackson, WLOX in Biloxi / Gulfport, WABG in Greenwood / Greenville, WTVA in Tupelo / Columbus and WMC in Memphis. Check your local listings for actual channels.

WTOK’s Football Friday kicks off Aug. 21 during Newscenter 11 at 10. An encore presentation can be seen at midnight on MyTOK2 (11.2) and Comcast Channel 2.

If you are headed to Collinsville for the West Lauderdale vs. Meridian High match up, come out early for the Friday Tailgate during Newscenter 11@6. Nick Adam will be there live with all the early excitement. Show up and we might even put you on TV! We’ll be all around the area every Friday night during the season with the Friday Tailgate.

Just because you don't like what someone says or how they say it, everybody's against you? Come on, grow up.

I think a lot of Wtok staff are against Meridian , and I know Mr Lyndsey Hall has kids that goes to West Lauderdale, but it does'nt really matter how much negative press we get at The High School those county school will not be able to beat us at anything . When you have a average of 15 kids compared to 30 kids in a class room you would think they can get a better education or better learning enviroment. We will get better thats a promise but in the mean time Wildcats will continue to dominate .

Nick Adam is obviously against Meridian High. Why do you allow him to cover MHS? One would think he is a West Lauderdale alumnae.

WTOK would love to carry other area local games, however, this is a statewide project with the game selections chosen by the producers of the series. As mentioned in the story, the games are being carried in each area of the state with a game originating from most every region of the state. WTOK was fortunate to have two local teams, both Meridian and Wayne County featured.

That's a great idea.....wait a minute why would a local television station not air area high school games! This is crazy!!!

I think most all the local football fans will be out supporting their team in person, not watching a couple none area teams play.

What about the Patrician vs South Choctaw rivalry across the state line?
